Monet and Fractions

It has been another busy week at school.

In math we have been learning about fractions. We have been finding 1/2 and 1/4 of whole shapes and numbers.

In English we have been writing our own versions of  'On the Way Home' and penpals to our friends in Rosser, Manitoba.

Art was fun this week when we created a watercolour picture of birch trees inspired by works of art of Claude Monet!

Be sure to keep up with your spellings and home reading.

Week of 31.10.16

This past week whizzed by with many happenings in 2/3 K. Monday started off with Halloween! We had a great morning completing math pumpkin activities. In the afternoon we participated in the Halloween parade, monster mash dance and then returned to our classroom for games and treats! It was spooktacular.

In Math this past week learning included measuring using non-standard and standard unit of measurement for length and weight.

In English we learned about instructional text. The children gave each other instructions of how to make a jam sandwich. Later we wrote the instructions for their partner to follow.

On Friday the class earned a PJ party. Everyone looked extremely cozy!

I hope everyone enjoyed the fantastic weather and got some extra sleep when they fell back in time.

See you Tuesday all rested and ready to learn!
